    Regulatory Update

Saudi Aramco, the world's largest integrated energy and chemicals company, has issued a new corporate safety directive. The mandate requires all contractors and vendors working on its downstream refining and petrochemical expansion projects to comply with the updated "General Instruction 2.0" safety framework.

    Compliance Details

The new framework strictly enforces the use of inherently flame-resistant (IFR) fabrics for all personnel working within hazardous zones. Unlike treated FR garments, IFR materials must maintain their protective properties for the lifetime of the garment, regardless of washing or exposure to contaminants.

    Strategic Implications

This regulation is directly linked to Aramco's $10 billion expansion of the Jazan Refinery and Terminal. It sets a new benchmark for the Middle Eastern oil and gas sector, where durability and chemical resistance are now equally weighted with thermal protection.
