A recent report released by the International Labour Organization (ILO), Chemicals and the World of Work, has highlighted growing concerns over occupational chemical exposure worldwide. According to the report, more than one billion workers are exposed to hazardous chemicals each year, contributing to over one million deaths and large numbers of occupational illnesses globally.
As the global chemical industry continues to expand and thousands of new chemical substances enter the market annually, existing safety management systems are facing increasing pressure. In response, the ILO plans to restructure and modernize global chemical safety standards during the 115th International Labour Conference in 2027.
Key proposed changes include:
Integrating and updating outdated chemical regulations
Establishing more dynamic and science-based exposure management systems
Strengthening hazardous chemical information reporting requirements
Promoting gender-neutral occupational protection based on risk assessment
The upcoming reforms are expected to further increase global demand for higher-standard industrial protective equipment, especially in chemical, oil & gas, manufacturing, and hazardous industrial environments.
In response to these evolving industry requirements, DOMEX Safety continues to focus on protective clothing solutions designed for high-risk workplaces worldwide. Backed by more than 25 years of manufacturing experience from Zhejiang Dexiang Special Fabrics & Apparel Co., Ltd., DOMEX develops FR, welding, anti-static, and industrial protective garments that comply with major international standards including ISO 11612, ISO 11611, and ISO 14116.
As global safety standards continue to evolve, DOMEX remains committed to advancing protective fabric technology, garment durability, and wearer comfort to help industrial workers operate more safely in increasingly complex working environments.
